Yesterday at the pet store (after spotting a cage of hamsters) Isaac said (rather loudly), "when Dutchie dies I want a gerbil!" (I think he meant hamster)
My response, "lets not talk about Dutchie dying"
A few minutes later he said, "mommy when Dutchie (pause...) goes to heaven, I really want a gerbil."

yeah, I could actually go for a gerbil over a dog, but I have my hands full as it is... mom and dad went with the kids today to get the fish...
